We are regularly looking for more nurses to work in our Mental Health, Neuropsychiatry, Learning Disability and SEN services.

Our hospitals are all small specialist units, where you can feel an active part of the day-to-day running of the units.

Working in small multidisciplinary teams our nurses are seen as integral to delivering the successful outcomes for the people we support of which we are understandably proud.

Many of our Directors have healthcare backgrounds, as clinicicans, nurse or care staff, and are actively involved with our services on a day-to-day basis. This has ensured that the people we support and those supporting them are always at the center of everything we do, and has enabled us to create a ‘whole team’ ethos where everyone’s contribution is listened to and valued.

Career Progression

Existing nursing staff cite the excellent career opportunities we offer as one of the best things about working for Iris Care Group.

We understand it is important that all our nurses are confident they will be supported to maintain their competencies whilst being offered the opportunity for continuing professional development.

It is recognised that isolation and role ambiguity can impact on job satisfaction for nurses working in specialist roles. Understanding the realities of these roles and considering how our nurses can be supported in practice is therefore a priority.

We have developed our own unique Nurse Competency Framework ; a blended approach to ensuring common core competencies and wider skills, knowledge and behaviour requirements of a proficient nurse are evidenced and documented. Alongside this our Nurse Career Pathway is supported by a Learning and Development Strategy tailored to each nurse’s area of practice and career pathway goals.

Our Nurse Competency Framework offers a development continuum. Whether our nurses are in their first newly-qualified role, progressing to become more proficient, or working to become expert practitioners, the competency framework reflects these levels, recognises specialist needs and provides a foundation for continuing competence-based development plus the identification and support to attain further specific academic qualifications.

In recent years, as our Nurse Competency Framework has developed and the aspirations of our nurses have grown, we have been pleased to be able to offer innovative new career opportunities.  For those who want to expand their clinical skills even further, we are now supporting some of our nurses to train to take on Nurse Prescriber and Approved Clinician roles.

Whatever your nursing ambitions, we will support you to achieve them.
