Are you passionate about upholding the human rights of people with complex mental health and behavioural needs Do you already have some experience in a support or care role and want more opportunity for supervision and to deliver evidence-based interventions? If so, we are inviting suitable candidates to apply for several exciting new roles in our services. This role will be an integral part of our organisation and will help us deliver and support person centred care and outcomes for all our patients in our hospital settings.

The role of Positive Practice Worker is integral to our organisational strategy to deliver truly person centred, evidence based, and human rights driven approaches for all users of our services. This is a direct care role working in a clinical environment within our shift rotas. You will have an allocated amount of supernumerary time built into your work plan to fulfil the administrative and supervision requirements of the role.

Role Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all areas of the service have continual access to a member of staff whose role it is to ensure adherence to person centred plans (including positive behaviour support plans)
  • Ensure and promote a continual focus on person centred outcomes across the service.
  • Act as a guide and advisor for all staff, working to structured support plans and link to the established clinical teams in our services.
  • Ensure that prescribed interventions are delivered, that care plans are co-produced alongside the people we support and their families.
  • Collect and monitor outcome data daily.

To succeed in this role, you must have an interest in and commitment to the practice of clinical psychology as an applied science or will have a career aspiration in a related discipline. You will also be aware of current policy agendas relating to person centred practice, values-based practice, and the need for services to continually focus on reducing restrictive interventions. Previous experience in working in services for people with Mental Health and Learning Disability is desirable.

This role is a development role that we aim to serve the purpose of supporting people at the early stage of their careers to progress either onto postgraduate clinical training or to training in other related professional careers. As an organisation we promote a culture of continuous learning and supervision, and you will have access to regular team supervision from qualified clinical staff and to individual supervision from our operations team. We anticipate that people successful in this role will rotate around our service to secure experience with different client groups, before embarking on further clinical professional training.
