Cherry Tree House is located on the outskirts of Bristol. It offers 24 hour residential social care and support for individuals with learning disabilities, behaviours which may challenge, autistic spectrum conditions and physical health needs.

Cherry Tree Houses’ model of care is a synthesis of positive behavioural support, sensory integration approaches and the recovery model. We aspire to ensure that each individual has a high quality of life as a valued member of their community above and beyond any diagnosis, learning disability or label that they may have been given.

Cherry Tree House enables excellent community access, presence and integration by utilising the facilities of its local community including specialist facilities such as Sensory Heaven, pet therapy, local shops, cafes, newsagents, GP practice, libraries, leisure centres and parks.

Cherry Tree House has a range of transport suitable for the people we support and, wherever possible, we strive to ensure that those who are eligible for Motability have their own vehicles.

Cherry Tree House offers a person-centred service and we work in partnership with the people we care for to offer choice, control and active participation in the service, both now and in the future. We pride ourselves on building strong relationships with families, care coordinators, and the local disability team. We also work in close partnership with our own clinicians including psychiatrists, psychologists and positive behavioural specialists.

The environment at Cherry Tree House has been carefully planned out, with individuals having extremely large en-suite bedrooms, some include small kitchenettes as well as tables, chairs and sofas, – giving a studio feel. This provides the ideal conditions for individuals who require a low stimulus environment or wish to engage in hobbies and interests on their own.

The people we support engage in community activities such as arts, crafts, games and cookery sessions, all of which can be adapted for low-stimulus needs. In addition, we are able to provide individualised sensory diets.

Cherry Tree House’s warm, friendly and stable atmosphere and person-centred support is central to supporting individuals to find greater independence by moving on to supported living, For some their stay may be relatively short. Whilst others, because of the complexity of their needs, will live at Cherry Tree for a more prolonged period.

Cherry Blossom, adjacent to Cherry Tree House is a large bungalow which has two separate one-bedroom bespoke flats where individuals have their own front door and independence. The bungalow was specifically designed for those who can present considerable challenges to their environment. It is also designed to meet the needs of individuals who prefer low stimulus environments and independence for the majority of their tim, but may choose to socialise and take advantage of some of the engagement opportunities available to them in the main house.

Cherry Tree House works in very close partnership with both our own clinicians and locality teams to ensure that all the needs of our service users are continuously met.
