Hudson House provides support for individuals with severe or enduring mental illness and personality disorder who needed 24 hour social care and support to facilitate their recovery and rehabilitation in a community setting.
At Hudson House the people we support have often stepped down from medium secure services and it is a recognition of the stability of the service and skills of the staff that they have been able to make this significant move from medium secure community care. Other individuals have stepped down from low secure or locked rehabilitation services or come from other community homes when a placement has broken down.
Hudson House provides a homely atmosphere in a warm and friendly local community. It is in an exceptionally good location, within easy walking distance of Caerphilly town centre and bus and train stations which give good access to Cardiff and beyond.
The home provides ordinary living in an ordinary street. The service has been successful in preventing revolving door admissions for service users who have historically broken down in their previous placements. The continuity of clinical care that we are able to offer through our own MDT has proved invaluable to individuals with very complex presentations.
With 9 bedrooms including a self-contained flat to the rear of the home Hudson House has a homely and intimate atthe people we support are encouraged to socialise and share a communal garden.
