Witla Court, located in the Rumney area of Cardiff, has a very friendly atmosphere and a strong sense of community. For the people we support with learning disabilities it epitomises the aspiration of ordinary living in an ordinary street. Witla Court fully delivers against a key aim of Transforming Care; supporting even those with the most complex of needs in a community settings.
Its location is not only ideal for promoting social inclusion but for developing independence and greater community skills. There are excellent transport links and within a short distance there is access to local colleges, a leisure centre, shops, post office, cafes and a GP surgery.
Witla Court comprises of two separate homes each accommodating four people with a shared garden. The home offers a range of opportunities for the people we support to socialise, as well as providing a low stimulus environment in which to pursue therapeutic activities, hobbies or interests.
Witla Court has been the step that many individuals have needed to develop their coping strategies and community skills, preventing readmission to hospital and enabling them to step forward to greater independence through supported living or a return to their family homes.
